I was in Kumaguya, Japan in 1945 with Headquarters Co. 3rd Bn. l03rd Inf. I was one of the first to wear the patch. It is embroidered with genuine silver thread. I still have it on my uniform.

Excellent work. As one who spent most of his working life in information technology after serving in the Hq. Co., 172d Inf in Munich during the early 50's, I appreciate the effort of putting up a useful web site. Thanks.

I was a member of "The Winged Victory Chorus" stationed in Germany in 1952 and 1953 during the Korean War. It was a real honor to be part of this group that was named "The Best Chorus in Europe"..I would appreciate hearing from anyone who sang with this group during the Korean War.

My dad, Lawrence Palmer, was the 43rd Division Artillery's dentist. He was in Guadalcanal, the Solomons and New Guinea from Oct '42 to Feb '45. He passed away in 1999. If anyone has any recollections about having their teeth worked on during the war, I'd love to hear about it! To all the members of the 43rd, you were (and still are) our greatest generation. Bless you all.
PS. Please enter your veteran's data into the WWII Memorial website.

My father, Thomas Jefferson Rayford was a combat eng. with the 43rd division. He was a part of the third wave that landed on Luzon. He is now 86 years of age and lives with me. I would love to get a qaulity DVD of the divisions service. I recently purchased one from the archives and it was very limited. I was also wondering if it is possible to help him reconnect with any of his army buddies.
Thank you for your service, T.J. Rayford
